Candidate for Carlisle Area School District
While our son was in school, I was a very active parent both in the classroom and on the PTO. I was a staunch advocate for our students to have a healthy environment in which to learn. Although the concerns are different today, I continue to have a passion to make things better for our students, teachers, and the district overall.
As a school board candidate, Colleen Blume feels the important issues facing our schools are:
- Low test scores and graduation rates.
- Parents, students’ teachers and administrators partnering to address concerns with measurable outcomes; education should be academically sound and focused to minimize distractions.
- Fiscal responsibility and transparency.
Why Colleen Blume is running for CASD
I love Carlisle! It is a great community with a lot to offer. We have great teachers and opportunities but our school’s test scores and graduation rate are not keeping pace compared to our surrounding districts. I believe we can make Carlisle schools better with fresh inspiration and ideas to support our teachers.
We have a tremendous opportunity with the next school board elections to begin turning the tide to make the Carlisle School District the place to be. I’m eager to be a part of the positive change for our student’s benefit. It’s time for a change. Vote for me and the other Team for Change candidates: Brown, Kephart, Leatherman, and Shine.
